Nurses Make Good Inventors

The No No Sleeve. Brilliant.

Jill Drew, RN came up with the idea for the No No Sleeve when her father in law, who has an AV fistula, was admitted to the hospital (see article). It is used to prevent nurses from using the arm with the AV fistula for blood pressures and IV sticks. It can also be used for the same reason for patients after a mastectomy with lymph removal.

I can’t tell you how many times signs above the bed fall or patients move rooms and the information slips through the cracks.

These should be available in every hospital.
